BIOGRAPHY
With his new camera he went in to the Swedish woodlands, visited lakes and went for excursions to the archipelago. It was here he discovered the Nordic light. Serkan is the first and only Swede who has won the award: ‘’Eric Hosking Award’’, for the best portfolio taken by a young photographer. This competition is organized by BBC Wildlife Magazine and the Natural History Museum in London, and is recognized as the most prestigious wildlife photography award in the world today. Serkan Gûnes has been named Nature Photographer of the Year (2009) by The Environmental Protection Agency of Sweden. His work is also widely published in Scandinavia, Turkey, England, France, Germany, Holland and Japan. Serkan is a member of the Association of Swedish Nature Photographers /N.
Serkan takes great pleasure in wildlife photography but landscape photography dwell in his heart. His poetic, unique image style and his keen sense for light truly capture and reveal nature at its best. |
